Purchasing an adoption package is an ideal gift that will also help contribute to the charity's operation - particularly as all of our adoption package options are eligible for Gift Aid! One of the biggest ongoing expenses is food, particularly during baby season, so adopting your favourite helps us provide our birds with a healthy, varied diet throughout the course of the year.

Choose from our three adoption package tiers below: Bronze, Silver or Gold. All of our adoption packages include a welcome letter, certificate of adoption, a photograph of your chosen bird and an information sheet as standard.

If you are a UK taxpayer, the entire amount of your adoption package purchase may be eligible for Gift Aid.
Bronze or Silver Adoption packages are always eligible, regardless of who you are purchasing them for. Gold Adoption packages are eligible if purchasing for yourself or a member of your family.

Adoption Package Disclaimer & Terms
All of our Adoption Packages are considered a symbolic sponsorship for a term of one year from the date of purchase, for which the selected animal will continue to remain under the ownership and care of Baytree Owl and Raptor Centre.
We endeavour to offer animals up for adoption only where we believe that they - in all likelihood - would remain in the collection for a period of at least one year. However, due to the nature of the charity's position as a licensed zoological park, we cannot guarantee that the adopted bird will remain at the attraction for the full term of adoption, nor are we able to ensure that your chosen bird will be viewable on the day of your visit.
In the event that the selected animal is transferred away from Baytree Owl and Raptor Centre, dies, or is otherwise no longer housed at the collection (such as in an off-show capacity) either permanently or temporarily, the sponsorship will continue as an "Honorary Adoption" - that is, the symbolic adoption will continue to be honoured by us for the remaining duration of the sponsorship. The original adopter will not automatically be notified of this, however more information about a bird's particular circumstances can be provided on request.
Additionally, the type and duration of the sponsor's recognition varies based on the chosen tier and - depending on the recognition format included with your adoption tier - we cannot 100% guarantee that the sponsor's name will be visible on any given date; we recommend contacting us before visiting to check the sponsor's current recognition status. Specifically:

For Bronze Sponsors, the Sponsor's Wall will be updated monthly at the latest. This may mean in extreme cases that a name may take up to 1 month to be displayed, however affected names would also remain on the Wall for up to 1 month after the adoption term. As such, all names will typically still be displayed for 12 months.

For Silver Sponsors, the sponsor's name will typically be displayed on the shared aviary plaque as soon as the package is issued, however you should allow up to 14 days for the name to be added. In some cases, names and/or plaques may be removed temporarily during routine maintenance while they are cleaned or replaced, or repairs to the aviary are made.

For Gold Sponsors, plaques may initially take up to 1-2 months to be produced and displayed, as these are fully bespoke due to their exclusivity. The sponsor will also have their plaque returned to them approximately 1-2 months before their adoption term is due to end, meaning the effective time the plaque will be "in situ" is 8-10 months.
We wish to ensure our adoption packages offer a genuine representation of the sponsored bird, and in the vast majority of cases the image supplied will be that of the chosen bird. However in very rare instances where a high quality photograph of an individual bird cannot be obtained (or, in the case of breeding pairs, where a clear distinction between individual birds cannot be made) this will instead be substituted with the best available image of that species from our collection. However all images used are a genuine photograph of a bird housed at Baytree Owl and Raptor Centre.
All adoption packages are valid for one year from the date of issue, until the end date shown on your certificate and admission pass (where applicable). To redeem your admission pass, simply present at the till upon arrival. Photocopies will not be accepted, but lost or stolen tickets may be reissued, subject to discretion. Note that each type of pass can only be used once (once per visit for Annual Membership pass) against admission for the named adoptee.
In situations where more than one person (including families or organisations) have been named on the adoption package, the voucher entitlement will still pertain to admission for one person.
As with standard admission, our adoption pass holders are eligible for same-day readmission and entry to the flying display, where one is available.
